A friend set us up on a blind date after Roma casually mentioned wanting to go on a date before her first year of college ended. Apparently, she took that seriously. The date went well, and we started dating a few weeks later. Then came the real test: Roma went to DC for the summer while Sid stayed in Chicago. Then COVID happened. Then he was in Minneapolis while Roma was in Chicago. We finally managed to both be in Chicago at the same time, only for him to move to Seattle for work. Now Roma’s in Wisconsin and Sid’s still in Seattle. We've been long distance in basically every combination of cities possible. We've had our embarrassing college moments, survived a quasi-foursome apartment situation, and racked up enough travel points to retire early (if only). Turns out we're pretty good at this whole thing, even when we're 2,000 miles apart. But we figured it's probably time to try living in the same place full-time.
