Most airlines post their flights 10-11 months ahead, so we recommend you start looking then and keep an eye out for when prices drop!

Flight

Nearby Airports

-Florence This is our recommendation! It is about an hour drive to the venue and an hour and a half train ride. (This is what the bride and groom will be doing). Although it is not the closest airport, there is so much to do in Florence and a must see while you are in Italy! -Pisa This is closest airport to the venue at about 30 minutes away. Although it is the closest to the venue there is not much to do in Pisa if you do wish to spend some time exploring. (Flights here also tend to be pricier as it is not a major airport) -Rome Another option if you wish to explore Italy a bit before meeting up with us for the wedding is to fly into Rome. There is a high speed train that you can take from Rome to Florence where you can meet up with us before we head to the venue! However, we do not recommend doing this in one day. This is a good option if you wish to spend a day or 2 in Rome first.

Flight

Airlines

Most major airlines fly into Italy, however we do encourage you to look into flying a European airline for cheaper options. Some examples are ITA Airways, Air France, British Airways, and Norse Atlantic for budget options. If you are flexible and play around with your dates and destination you can often can find great deals. (ie. it may be cheaper to fly into Rome a few days before vs Florence, etc)

Travel Note

Transportation to the venue

We are looking into getting shuttles from Lucca city center to the venue. We will update this page with more information soon! If you wish to rent a car you can easily get an Italian drivers license from AAA prior to your trip. There is plenty of parking at the venue, but please note that the roads are very tight and windy on your way up.

Train

Train to Lucca

There is a nonstop train from Florence to Lucca if you do not wish to rent a car or use a taxi. It is cheap and very easy. This is what the bride and groom will be doing. You can purchase your tickets online in advance or at the station. We recommend using google to see times and pricing! If you are using the website please note that the recommended train station in Florence is Firenze Santa Maria Novella.

Travel Note

Bride + Groom Recommendation

Our recommended route: Fly into Florence > Direct Train to Lucca > Use arranged shuttle to get to venue

For all the days along the way
