Never in a million years did either of us think we would meet the love of our lives the first day we moved to Edmond, OK. We both started school at The University of Central Oklahoma and moved into the Quad, UCO’s first-ever CO-ED dorm. In the first week of living on campus, we were required to attend a residence hall meeting. Little did we know what was in store for us. At the end of the meeting, we started talking about hanging out in the common area with some of the other residents. A few hang out sessions later and we went on our first date to see Mission Impossible. A night ending with our first kiss, lots of laughs and long talks became the start of forever.
With Sabrina moving to Florida for graduate school, we spent a week at Walt Disney World to celebrate. On the 3rd day, we planned to get to Magic Kingdom really early for rope drop and breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table in the castle. Sabrina was taking her time getting ready and I remember trying to hurry her up the nicest way possible. We were running a little bit behind and weren’t going to make it in time. One of the cast members thankfully let us skip the line to get on the monorail and we rushed to the castle. We were a few minutes late for our reservation, but I insisted we stop to take photos. Sabrina was really confused about why we were rushing to take photos in front of the castle since it wasn’t going anywhere and we were already late for breakfast. I assured her it was because it’s the only time of day when you don’t have hundreds of people in your photos. She finally agreed (If you know Sabrina, you know she can be stubborn). A few regular photos later, I pointed behind us and said, “Wow, look at that”. When she turned back around I was on one knee with the ring in my hand. Of course, the proposal didn’t go 100% as planned since the ring fell out of the container and fumbled to the ground. However, the moment she said yes, Disney truly felt like “The Most Magical Place On Earth”!
