We met freshman year of college at Colorado State University in Corbett Hall. Anthony lived on my best friends dorm floor. We were constantly hanging out in the same circles and though I had a large crush on him all through college, we were only ever close friends. It wasn't until after graduating college and moving away to California that Anthony and I decided to give it a shot--long distance. Less than a year with him and I knew he was my forever, so I packed up my bags and moved back to Colorado.
Being that we met at CSU, the campus has a very special place in both of our hearts. For our two year anniversary, Anthony thought it'd be fun to travel back to Fort Collins and revisit our old stomping grounds. We had a "plan" to go to breakfast at our favorite breakfast spot and meet up with some friends but while driving up there, Anthony said he 'wasn't hungry yet' and that we should go walk the campus and see all the new additions in the meantime. We parked the car right by the famous Oval and started walking. Anthony made casual conversation which eventually led to him getting down on one knee and I bawled like a baby. Meanwhile, his sister (on crutches) his mom (hiding behind the large oval trees) and Stepdad were taking photos and documenting the whole thing. It was EXACTLY what I pictured. At that point, I thought we would just go home and tell everyone but Anthony had kindly asked my whole family to meet us at Snooze A.M Eatery to surprise me. I was shocked and emotional and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.
