Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who will be standing by our sides as we say "I do"!

Kim Evans

Maid of Honor

Kim is Joy's twin sister, so they've known each other literally since before birth. Always "glued at the hip," Kim and Joy have shared a close bond and similar interests over the years, particularly a love of traveling. As Kim's flight companion through JetBlue, they have traveled much of the states, to Puerto Rico, and 15+ countries. Even before Joy met Jonathan, Kim and Joy have called each other "hermana" - the Spanish word for sister!

Bruno Rojas

Best Man

Bruno is Jonathan's younger brother. These 2 brothers grew up together in the north part of Santiago, and without doubt, had a very fun childhood. They used to create games and exciting situations with their little cousins - they still remember the "poop monster", when Bruno would chase them around the house covered in a blanket. Bruno now lives in Norway, where he moved when he was 16 years old. After finishing college, he started a Dance Academy in the city of Bergen which has been very successful.

Erin Martin

Bridesmaid

Erin and Joy met when they were living in Pittsburgh, PA at their church's young adults group, and were instantaneous best friends. Though they both left Pittsburgh shortly thereafter and have only technically lived in the same city for a total of 6 months, they have maintained a strong friendship over the past 9 years. Even now, they share a love of coffee that stems from their nearly daily Starbucks "dates" back in the Burgh.

Sergio Muñoz

Groomsman

Every summer Jonathan loved to visit his cousins in Temuco - Pamela, Ricardo, and Sergio. Sergio was the youngest of them. Jonathan loved the south of Chile so much that he chose to go to college in this city. This is when Sergio and Jonathan became closer and shared unforgettable moments. From pillow fights to talking about the dumbest topics. Sadly, the funniest stories with Sergio can’t be told through this site. Feel free to ask Sergio to share some of those stories.

Klaire Sabbagh

Bridesmaid

Klaire and Joy met at a Christian women's group right after Joy returned to Virginia from the Netherlands. It was a low point for Joy but a high point over that year was attending a Bible study in Klaire's home, where they became like family. Though Klaire is a wedding photographer, she has never been a bridesmaid until now! (In the words of Klaire: "always the wedding photographer, never the bridesmaid!")

Sebastian Hurrensen

Groomsman

Seba is one of Jonathan’s best friends from high school. Together they share the same passion for football (soccer). During their high school tournaments, these two 12 year-olds caused problems for the other teams, even the classes above. That is why they were called the “Galacticos.” This is the nickname that the Real Madrid soccer team had at the time, due to them having multiple soccer stars playing together. In a high school with only boys things got a little crazy so you can imagine that this two share many stories together. Seba recently got married and it was an amazing experience, especially for Joy since it was her first Chilean party.

Sara Peña

Bridesmaid

Joy met Sara when she moved to Boston and started attending Church at the Well, where Sara was leading worship until her recent move to Colorado. The church's coffeehouse in downtown Boston (The Well), where Sara served as manager and Joy as a volunteer, is where they really got to know each other. Sara has since become a close friend of both Joy and Jonathan. Over the years, they have learned of their mutual love of fitness and have a pact to be accountability partners well into their 70's!

Ted Evans

Groomsman

Ted is Joy's older brother. Last Christmas Ted organized a memorable trip to Big Bear Mountain in southern California with his family. It was epic and a true American Christmas experience for Jonathan. Jonathan's favorite story from Ted's childhood is when he convinced his 6 year old sisters to eat jalapeños from a jar, telling them that it would enable them to travel back in time and get a doll that they wanted. Ted's persuasion defeated the twins' ability to see reality, and sadly, the 6 years old ate the jalapeños. They never saw the dolls. Make sure to get a picture with Ted if you see him at the wedding since you might see him at the Oscars one day!
