Our Story

It all began on February 28th, 2025—a Friday evening at Rally in First Baptist Fort Lauderdale. At the end of the night, Alexis approached me and sparked a conversation. Within minutes, we realized how much we had in common. At one point, Alexis even laughed and asked, “Are you seriously saying this just to say it?” because we couldn’t believe how alike we truly were. Before the night ended, he invited me to Saturday service at Church by The Glades. The very next day, I went—and during the service, they held a baptism altar call. I had been praying about getting baptized for a long time, but I wasn’t expecting it that day. As I walked forward, phone in hand, Alexis and I crossed paths again, and he offered to record the moment for me. Looking back, it felt like God was aligning everything perfectly. A couple of weeks later, I visited his gym for the first time. His parents happened to be there, and all I could think was, “What are the odds? He’s a man of God, he owns a gym—which is my hobby—and he was there for me on one of the most important days of my life… and now his parents are right here. These might be my future in-laws.” That day I went home and told my mom about him, and she said, “You’re going to end up with him.” When I asked how she knew, she smiled and said, “The way your eyes light up when you talk about him says everything.” As always, moms just know—and she was right. As the months passed, I continued praying and asking God if Alexis was the man meant for me—the man I would marry and build a future with. Every single time, God answered with clarity and peace: he was the one. Two months and eleven days after we met, on May 9th, 2025, Alexis asked me to be his girlfriend. Not long after, we had a deep, beautiful conversation about marriage, children, and building a legacy together. On June 3rd, he encouraged me to start looking at rings, so I went to try on my dream engagement ring. Then, four months and five days later, he asked me the most important question of my life: “Will you marry me?” He proposed in Puerto Rico—one day before our monthly anniversary and four days before my birthday. Leading up to it, everyone (including him) kept dropping hints, but nothing could prepare me for the moment he looked at me, said “It’s time,” and dropped to one knee. I was completely overwhelmed—with joy, disbelief, and gratitude. Every dream I’ve ever prayed for has been falling into place, and I thank God every day for it. Not only do we love each other deeply, but we have chosen to keep God at the center of our relationship—now and forever.
