John: After a long day at work, John moseyed over next door to the Hallenius residence, as he tended to do back in the days when he lived in Omak. He picked up a copy of the Omak Chronicle (all the news that's fit to print) and spotted an announcement from Family Health Center on the bottom of the second page - Please welcome our new pharmacist, Lois Kim! John took a look at the photograph of Lois in the advertisement, made a mental note that there was a new woman in town, and wondered if she was unattached. Lois: Also after a long day of work, Lois drove over to Safeway (the only Safeway in town) to get some lunch ingredients and snacks. As she was browsing through the deli aisle, she heard someone say "Excuse me, are you Lois?" Looking up, she saw a man with beautiful eyes that were shining with excitement. Lois hesitantly replied yes, not knowing who this man was. The man assured "Oh you work at the pharmacy over there at the Family Health Centers right? I'm John." This is when Lois wondered if she should know who John is or if she has met John before. John then said, "I saw you in the local newspaper." Lois' brain started whirring as she had not given any newspaper permission to take her photo, let alone publish a photo of her. After some small talk, John offered to introduce Lois to the greatest taco truck in Okanogan and got her number. However, to this day, Lois has not seen the so-called newspaper with her photo. Lois started to worry as she left the Safeway... John: John had a great date all planned out. It was to be a culinary tour-de-force of the taco trucks of the greater Omak area. But Lois sent him an apologetic text message in which she begged off, claiming to have not realized until later that John's smooth moves in the grocery store were romantically inclined, and informing him that she had a boyfriend. The serendipitous first encounter beside the lunchmeat was for naught. John was crestfallen. Lois: Two years later, John reached out to Lois on the dating app Hinge. John and Lois finally went on a first date (an "easy" hiking trip), then on a second date (baking scones), and the rest is history. A few months after the second date, Lois came clean to John that she did not have a boyfriend when she first turned down the taco truck date. She declined because she was worried John might be a stalker. But fate brought us back together and we are both excited for our future together.
