What are the Indian pre-wedding events?
Answer
The Sangeet on Friday is a lively, festive pre-wedding celebration which will include food, drinks, music, and dancing. We will also be having a henna artist at this event for those interested! The Baraat is a traditional wedding procession that marks the groom’s arrival at the bride’s wedding venue. Guests join the groom and dance to lively music as they make their way to the bride’s location. The baraat is a celebration full of energy and excitement and we recommend everyone joins in on the fun!

When should I arrive?
Answer
Friday: Please arrive early afternoon, as the Sangeet starts promptly at 5pm. This will allow you enough time to get settled, relaxed and changed for the Sangeet. Saturday: Please arrive by 1pm. There will be light refreshments served prior to the Baraat, which starts at 2pm.

What should I wear?
Answer
We would love to see everyone in bright, vibrant colors for all events! We encourage our guests to embrace the merging of our cultures by wearing Indowestern attire, OR Cocktail attire, if preferred. Please refrain from wearing white, red, or black to our ceremonies. Examples of Indowestern attire include: Women- Lehenga sets, palazzo pant suits, anarkali suits, kurta sets, sarees. Men- Kurta pajama, kurta (top) with slacks, or sherwani for a more formal option. If you live in the Los Angeles area, we recommend visiting Indian clothing stores on Pioneer Blvd. in Artesia. If you live in the Boston area, we highly recommend Chaubandi Boutique in Arlington. If you live in the SF Bay area, we recommend visiting Indian clothing stores in Fremont. Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
All of our events will be held at Hayes Mansion in San Jose, CA and we hope you can stay at the hotel. Our room block at Hayes Mansion can be found in the Travel section. Please let us know if you cannot access the room block.
