Commercials say that dating apps work, and apparently they're right. Who would have thought that these two would find each other after swiping left and right on dozens of other people? After Connor gave Rebecca an extra day to make a decision, she finally reached back to him and the rest is history! Their first date was at a local café where Rebecca left after 2 hours. Connor thought she did not like him, so he kept trying even harder to impress her. After dating for two years, Connor asked Rebecca to wed.
Rebecca is one of the nicest people on the planet. She is compassionate, honest, open, and empathetic. Rebecca tolerates my goofiness and I feel completely comfortable to be myself around her. We share very similar goals and our values very much so align. When we first met at the cafe, I was awestruck when I first saw who agreed to the date. I thought I was going to be catfished! She was wearing a blue dress with pink flowers on it. The way that the sun was shining through silhouetted her body so it seemed like she was the only one standing in the cafe (it's not cheesy, this really happened). During the date, not only her physical beauty shined but also her smarts. She had a higher degree gained than me, challenged me to think more critically, and be engaged fully within the conversation. Rebecca ended up leaving the date on the agreed upon time (though I was hoping she would stay to talk more). I was hooked and kept trying to figure more about her. I asked her on a second date about an hour after getting home because I was frustrated that she left. So here we are! I get to marry a woman that challenges me mentally, holds a standard for me so I stay truthful to my beliefs, and makes me want to be a better person so I can be half as good as she is. <3
December 2019. My best friend invited me to go on a day trip to Helen, GA to celebrate her new job and relax before work really picked up. I was hesitant at first, thinking that that weekend was my only opportunity to spend time with Connor that week because of his work schedule. My best friend said of course Connor was invited, too. To my surprise, he wanted to join, so off we went! After walking through downtown Helen and perusing the Christkindlmarkt, we walked up to a picturesque gazebo on the top of a hill. I started to notice my best friend peel off to the side and Connor getting quiet. He held my hands, got down on one knee, and asked “Will you marry me?” To the man who has always been patient with me, supported me, and who I’ve always felt truly comfortable around, of course I said yes.
