The Wedding Website of Rohan Siddhanti and Rooshy Roy
Question

It's my first Indian wedding - what are the events?

Answer

The first night, Friday July 31, is the "Sangeet". This is a festive night of song and dance, where there will be some prepared dances/speeches/etc from each side, dinner/drinks and an open dance floor to wrap up the night. For Rohan and Rooshy's friends - until 5:30pm, Saturday is wide open for you. There's tons to do in the area, we'll give you more info. Saturday evening: 5:30pm - "Baraat". This is where the groom's side leads a short procession (100 yds or so) of dancing and singing, to meet the brides side at the entrance to the wedding. If you're on Rooshy's side, you're still welcome to join the Baraat. ~6:15pm: Traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. You just have to sit in the chairs and enjoy the view :) After that, cocktail hour and reception, all stuff you've seen before.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We are working with Riya Collective - an Indian clothing rental service that has collections for both women and men. They'll tell you all you need to know about our events, and they'll also help you find something you're comfortable in if it's your first time wearing this clothing! The Riya Collective team is here to assist you with any questions you have. We’ve worked with them to get you $20 in credit to rent for our events. Input the code "RohanandRooshy" here (https://riyacollective.com/pages/weddinglanding) - they’ll take care of the rest and ensure none of our guests show up in the same outfit =). They have stylists on hand for all the advice you need! Riya + Rohan/Rooshy will be hosting a dedicated showroom in NYC on March 21, for our wedding. You can try on items and rent them for the wedding! More details coming soon. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to reach them at help@riyacollective.com
