We're Getting Married!

Our journey began in two very different places—Mitch in the heart of North Carolina and Alex in the mitten-shaped state of Michigan. Though our paths were miles apart, fate (and Hinge!) had a different plan. In October 2021, Alex made the leap and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina with her sister and brother-in-law. Just a few months later, a swipe turned into a first date… and the rest is history. From the very beginning, it just clicked. We've been together ever since, sharing laughter, adventures, and lots of live music. Mitch quickly introduced Alex to one of his favorite things: concerts. From local shows to weekend trips, we made so many fun memories dancing to our favorite bands. A little over a year later, life brought us to Savannah, Georgia for Mitch's job, where we fell even more in love with each other. In February 2025, we took a road trip to Atlanta to visit friends and catch a couple of String Cheese Incident concerts. While in Atlanta, we made a special stop at the Georgia Aquarium—something Alex had dreamed of for years. After an awe-filled visit, we stepped out into the courtyard where Mitch, full of love (and maybe a few nerves), got down on one knee and proposed. Alex said yes! We celebrated the best way we knew how—surrounded by friends, good music, and an overwhelming sense of joy. In April 2025, we returned to North Carolina, settling down in Winston-Salem and continuing to build a life we love with our little family. This includes two very important (and opinionated) members—Mitch’s dog, Gatsby, and Alex’s cat, Lily. While their early days were...tense, they’ve grown into their own version of harmony. Deep down, they really do love each other (we think). We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. Thank you for being part of our story.
