We met at work- on the 5th floor Rehab Team break room. I had just started as a therapist at Methodist Hospital and Keith was a rehabilitation technician at the time. The very first day we met, I thought "Okay, I'm not talking to him, he's too cute." Keith said he heard me laugh and instantly though, "Who is that? I want to bring her home to Momma." Needless to say, we both attempted to keep our distance and avoid each other because we were both too shy. It was however, inevitable. Every time we ran into each other, we could not stop talking. Each day it got harder and harder to avoid each other. After a few months, we finally decided to start meeting at the park to read daily devotions and share our faith. We built a relationship around God and became the best of friends. We knew we were in love before we even went out on our first date.

Keith proposed on my birthday! He planned a weekend trip to South Padre Island so I could spend time with my family and have a relaxing weekend on the beach. I had no idea he was planning to propose that weekend! My parents & siblings all knew and were trying not to make it obvious. The day before he proposed, we were talking to my mom about our future plans and I said "Well, maybe Keith will propose some day." I looked over at Keith and he said, "I still have to save up, it's an expensive ring." Keith mentioned he thought I was onto his plans and was trying to trow me off. Well, it really did. I really had no idea! The day he proposed I wanted to relax by the pool and he was being very demanding about going to the beach. Little did I know, it was because he wanted to propose already. So, we walked down to the beach, found a perfect spot to setup, fought with our canopy, and then relaxed for a while. I wanted to get in the water and thought it was strange Keith did not want to go with me. So, I got in the water and was wondering what on earth he was doing because he brought this bag w him and was unpacking things. He finally joined me and said, "Hey, lets take a picture!" He set up the camera propped up on a shoe somehow and then pointed at something behind me, and said "Look, what's that?" I didn't see anything but felt something fall near my foot so I turned really fast. He said, "Oh look at the shell., isn't it pretty" I was so confused... That was a huge shell...how did I not notice that before? He said, "pick it up" ....I was thinking geez, why do I have to pick it up hah. So, I picked up the shell and he got down on one knee. It read "Will You Marry Me?" ....we both can't remember what he said after that. He was nervous and I was in shock. It was the cutest thing, and of course, as you know, I said YES!
