The Boardwalk at Lady Bird Lake
Enjoy a scenic 1.3 miles walk along Lady Bird Lake and take in the downtown skyline! You can access one of the entrances on the northeast corner of the American-Statesman parking lot. If you're looking for a longer walk or run, you should check out our 10-mile Town Lake Trail which runs along the boardwalk.
South Congress Avenue
If you're undecided, feel free to walk down South Congress Avenue! There are tons of food options, great for shopping, and people watching. Walk your way up to the South Congress Bridge right before sunset and see bats fly underneath! South Congress Food Recommendations: Joann's Fine Foods; Jeni's Ice Cream; Guero's Taco Bar; Perla's Oyster Bar; Toasty Badger; Jo's Coffee; Taco Joint (a must for breakfast tacos!)
The Driskill Hotel
Enjoy a cocktail at The Driskill, a famous Austin Hotel, where President Johnson and First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson, lived during the 1950s and 60s! Some say that the hotel is haunted!

Terry Black's Barbecue
We hope you make your way to Terry's Blacks. Great BBQ and atmosphere. Note that they do not take reservations. Definitely get the mac & cheese!
