Our Story

From Friends to Forever

Lauren and Joey's story began in Chino Hills in 2015, years before the two would actually meet. Lauren worked at Incase, where a gentleman named Kory Garcia also worked. In 2017, Lauren moved to the parent company's headquarters in Irvine to begin her career working in product Licensing. Also in 2017, Kory's younger brother was looking for a job after graduating from the University of San Diego, so being a good big brother, Kory tried to get his younger sibling a job at his company. There was an opening on the Licensing team, so he reached out to his old friend on the Licensing team, Lauren, to help submit the resume and application and put in a good word, which ultimately worked when his younger brother got the job. That younger brother was Joey, and the rest, as they say, is history. Their love story did not begin there, however. The two started out as mere teammates and became friends shortly after, which is where they remained for several years. That friendship grew into a brother/sister relationship (weird, we know) with Joey being the annoying younger brother that would come to Lauren for advice about his OTHER romantic interests and Lauren being the older sister that would CONSTANTLY tease and bully Joey. After changes in each of their lives, Lauren realized that there might be more than friendship in their relationship, and Joey came to the same realization soon after. As you could imagine, not only dating while working together but working on the SAME TEAM could be quite tricky. Soon after the onset of their relationship, Covid hit. In fact, the pair made it "official" on March 21, 2020 - just days after the initial lockdowns were announced. Their relationship flourished through the privacy and slower pace of life during the lockdowns, but thankfully, the lockdowns eventually lifted, returning us all to a new normal way of life. The two were able to return to some of their favorite pastimes - traveling and many, many (aka every) Chargers game. Some of their fondest travel memories together include: -Prior Lake, MN -Big Sur, CA -Oahu, HI -Zion National Park -Spain When the going got the toughest for them in February 2023, Lauren and Joey both (individually and as a couple) renewed their faith in God and rededicated their lives to Him. With a renewed focus within their lives and within their relationship on God, they grew to new heights they would have never thought possible. On March 10, 2024, Joey asked Lauren to marry him, and Lauren said "Yes" to her forever. On September 28, 2024, they will make their lifelong covenant to one another and to God.

For all the days along the way
