A Love That Feels Like Home

Proof that the best love stories start unexpectedly

Cody and I first met through a close friend at a bar. It wasn’t some big, dramatic moment—our first conversation actually started over shoes. Simple, unexpected, and very us. At the time, we didn’t know that moment would turn into something so meaningful. Months later, everything shifted. We realized our boys shared the same name, and somehow that small coincidence made everything click. We started talking more, opening up, and discovering just how much our lives already seemed to align. My first impression of Cody was easy—he was cute and genuinely kind. What I didn’t know then was how safe I would come to feel with him. That sense of safety, trust, and understanding is what defines our relationship now. Our story hasn’t been perfect or effortless, especially in the beginning. We both came with our own lives, our own children, and our own flaws. But through patience, growth, and learning to truly accept one another, we built something real. Today, we’re a blended family with two children from our separate journeys and a beautiful daughter together—our greatest reminder of how far we’ve come. What makes our relationship special isn’t that it’s been easy—it’s that we chose each other through the hard parts, learned to grow together, and created a love that feels like home.
