Rodney’s Reflection: The Preparation I first met Chimaobi in 2023, but my journey to him began long before that. After years of dating unsuccessfully, I sat alone with God and admitted to him and myself what He already knew: that I had to experience personal growth and "do the work" to prepare my heart to receive love that is true and pure. Once my heart was able to receive this truth, I prayed a prayer filled with intention and conviction. When I finally felt ready, I returned to social media for conversation and potential dating. Shortly after rejoining the “new age of dating”, Chimaobi’s profile found its way to my screen and I immediately “slid into his DMs” (lol). We began to chat and quickly decided to meet. It was at that first meeting that I felt it... I could literally feel love radiating when his eyes saw me for the first time and after crossing many seas and several thousand sky miles earned, I am excited to spend my life with Chimaobi. Chimaobi’s Reflection: The Connection Rodney and I met on June 24, 2023, at 7:57 PM. I remember the exact time because I had only made the post a few moment before receiving his message; I remember thinking, “That was fast!” I hesitated for a minute, because even though I had made the post, I was in a foreign place and online because I was feeling alone and far from everything I knew. I asked myself, “Is this a smart thing to do?” Ultimately, I gave into curiosity and replied...BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! Within minutes of our first conversation, the fear washed away and I discovered we shared the same core values: open and honest communication, monogamy, commitment, and a deep love for our families. We planned our first meeting and haven't stopped falling in love with each other since. We have traveled many places together in this world and I look forward to traveling many more in this world and the next with Rodney as my husband.
