Flashback to the pre-pandemic holiday season, I (Sam) was at my parent's house in Goodrich, MI swiping on Bumble. I normally abstained from doing this while there because I was living 40 minutes away at the time and didn't really want to meet someone that would be "longish" distance. I must have been really bored. However, I came across a picture of a very handsome fellow with an even cuter cat and thought "Wow, a guy who likes cats!!". I saw that he was a resident physician, though, and had my doubts... I expected him to be boastful and probably self-centered, or at the very least, too busy to have a real relationship. I swiped right anyway and it was a match! We decided to meet up for brunch in mid-January (one of the first times Dan was free as he was on nights at the time) and I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that I was wrong about all of my negative assumptions. We had such a good time at brunch, we went bowling immediately after and planned another date for the following week... And as they say, the rest is history!
