Our story begins in a choir room full of people at church. That’s right…at church. This extremely animated, happy-go-lucky dude was making his rounds talking to members old and new and caught eyes with this Angel from heaven. Her name is Doniqua (Pretty Donnie is what they called her). Each week, Rod and Pretty Donnie would speak in passing at rehearsals and before service where they share their love for God and praise & worship. Following a year of casual interactions at church, Rod soon discovered that there was more than meets the eye with this Church-girl. The path towards love began with an evening of pizza and sweet treats in downtown Birmingham. What followed next was weeks and months of getting to know each other, alignment on shared goals and dreams, lots of laughter and good times, and the cultivation of a love for each other that has led us to the same conclusion. You are MY person AND I want to spend the rest of my life with you. We are SO happy to find each other at such a time as this. But…God! This is our story. Yay Us!
