📱Cell Phone Data in Panama If you want cellular data while you are in Panama you will need to buy a SIM or eSIM. We recommend downloading the Airalo App if your phone has eSIM capabilities and purchasing an eSIM plan from the app and activate it on your phone prior to leaving the US. The Panama Airport also sells physical SIM cards near the car rental kiosks in Terminal 1 near the doors to leave the airport, but they are typically more expensive. 💵 Currency Panama accepts US Dollars as currency. Some small businesses or tour groups are cash only, however credit cards are widely accepted at restaurants and hotels. We recommend bringing a small to moderate amount of cash depending on your spending habits and using a credit card that DOES NOT have foreign transaction fees for the majority of your purchases. 🌤️ Weather Panama's weather will likely be mid to upper 80s during the day and low 70s at night. There is humidity, but its not oppressive and things are comfortable in the evenings It's also typical for a rain shower to roll through daily. Most people wait out the rain if they are out in the city. 🛂 Passport Control It will be helpful to have some basic info ready, written down or available on your phone: 1. Your Airline and Flight Number 2. How many days you are staying in Panama 3. The address of your hotel You may also be asked to provide fingerprints on the reader at the desk. 🛃 Customs You may be given a paper customs form on the plane (bring a pen), but there is also a digital customs form now (QR code at the airport). You present this on your way out of the airport after you collect your bags and place them in an X-Ray scanner. If you are bringing more than $10,000 as a wedding gift, you must declare it at customs 😁
