We met on OkCupid. I liked him first, I thought he was very handsome and was excited that we had so many common interests. It was a quick match made in nerdy heaven, he is a cosplayer and interested in blacksmithing, I am an artist and I'm always excited to build something with my own two hands, and we both enjoy videogames, sci-fi, and fantasy. Little did we know that we had each connected with the person of our dreams!!!
With much excitement and anticipation, we met at Cheddars for our first date!!! When I arrived Joe was already at the table. He looked ridiculously handsome, despite being very sick. Poor pitiful Joe was so excited to meet me in person that he planned on just pushing through being sick. My roommate at the time was immune-compromised, so I could not risk bringing germs home to her and so Joe was sent home to recover. About a week later we had First-Date-Take-Two. We met at an IHOP for breakfast and talked for so long that we got subtle hints from the waitress that it was time to go. Neither one of us was ready to end the conversation so we went to a nearby park and took a walk. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and freezing cold, but we didn't care we were just excited to find a kindred spirit. It was the most magical second-first date I have ever had, Joe was so handsome, and ridiculously tall, and funny, smart, kind, we clicked on all levels and had similar viewpoints on life's big issues. I was just immediately enamored with this man.
Believe it or not, this is a question we have gotten quite a bit. It actually started out as a joke, but the more we thought about it the more it seemed like a fun way to start our lives together and to publicly express the best parts of the relationship that Joe and I share. It gives us a platform to express our creativity and joy of playing together.
