We met in Salt Lake City, UT for a teacher's conference. During that time, Aaron was living in Texas with his kids and teaching, while I was living in Colorado, and finishing up grad school. One night after several workshops there was a Live ASL comedy show for all of us American Sign Language teachers. Aaron immediately noticed someone sitting several seats down the row, and noticed my beautiful smile. He asked his friend, who is that!? So, he decided to approach me and introduced himself to me. He asked if I wanted to join him and his friends at a bar after a long 3 day conference of workshops and training, of course I said, yes! Unbeknownst to me, my life would change for better. After a few hours of drinking some beers, and chatting away in ASL, I told Aaron, that this was by far one of the best moments I've experienced at any bar get togethers, because it was so easy to communicate, and never felt at ease like that. For the first time in a long while, I didn't feel lonely. I remember him being so easy to talk to, and felt like we connected on the same level. We both found out we loved the mountains, climbing, hiking and anything outdoorsy, then the rest was history.
