Riverside Park is a great place to hang out and eat a picnic or dip your toes in the water! It will be busy on the 12th all day, the morning, and early afternoon of the 13th as the Salida 76 mountain bike race is that weekend! It is a 76 mile race in the mountains around Salida and the finish line is in the park. Feel free to sign up, just shower before the wedding!
The Salida Farmer's Market is on every Saturday from Spring to Fall. Go check out some amazing local crafts, used books, and try some fresh produce! Checkout the library across the street for some AC and vibes if you need it. We cannot emphasize enough how incredible the hand pies and donuts are from the Amish people, bring cash and treat yourself to a Saturday morning donut.
Ruby Blues is one of our favorite thrift shops, we love the clothes here and have found several jackets and bags that we use frequently. It is right in the heart of downtown, stop by!
Another thrift favorite in town, this place has more home goods than Ruby Blues and you can find a cool knick knack or souvenir to take home!
Salida Thrift is my (Max's) mom's favorite thrift shop, maybe ever. It is jam packed with neat stuff and feels like an amazing amalgamation of garage sales of many eccentric people. I quite love the Star Wars collection the owner keeps behind the counter, if you see a good Max Rebo item pick it up for me!
These bike bags are my weakness, my bike has two and I stop myself from getting a saddle bag every time I am in town. Check out their locally made bags, you can even see them working on them in the store!
If you have ever wanted to try fly fishing (way cooler than bait fishing) Salida is an incredible place to get your feet wet, literally. A float trip is a great Friday or Sunday activity, grab a friend and split the cost of a full or half day, let a guide help you learn, and do all the hard knot tying for you. ArkAnglers is my (Max) dad's favorite fly shop in the area and they have some AMAZING float trips. Last summer we went on a float together down the Arkansas River and I had the best day of my novice fly fishing career. I caught over 40 fish while my dad watched, it made up for all the years of me watching him catch everything while I learned to cast. We love this place and it is a local business we are happy to support it!
Brown Dog is the perfect pick me up when you need an afternoon jolt of energy. We frequently stop by here for a coffee/matcha (or randomly some good ice cream) in the middle of our adventures around town. Check them out!
This is a great ice cream place right next to the park, grab a scoop and enjoy the river!
Need a nice brew of a craft beer? Stop by Soulcraft! This place brews some great stuff and is always a good vibe, and they are a customer of Max's job Arryved!
Boathouse is a great place downtown to grab a bite to eat, go upstairs for some views of the river and enjoy watching the surfers (yes, surfers in Colorado) try to say up in the river rapids!
Sweetie's is our favorite sandwich shop in town, grab one to go and enjoy it in the park or get a pastry there and enjoy the smells!
This Mexican restaurant is approved by Robyn as well as Max's Texan parents. It's no SoCal burrito shop, but they have great food and margaritas!
Mojo's is on the edge of town right when you get there coming on Highway 50 from Cañon. One of our favorites for breakfast/brunch, everything on the menu is great!
Moonlight is some of the best pizza and beer in town. Get a pie to go at your hotel or the park and enjoy some rocky mountain pizza!
