When do you need my RSVP? How do I do that?

Answer

We invite you to RSVP online by heading to the RSVP section on this site. You will need to look for your name and indicate whether or not you will be able to attend. If you RSVP yes, you will be prompted to answer a couple of questions. We need final answers by October 11, 2025 at the latest. However, the earlier we get your confirmation (whether it’s a yes or no), the better!

What time should I arrive and where?

Answer

Please arrive at The Views At Superstition (address in previous question) by no later than 2:30 PM. We need to allow enough time for boarding the shuttle to Lost Dutchman State Park (more details in the next question), so please be prompt!

Will there be transportation provided between the ceremony and reception sites?

Answer

Yes, we plan to provide a shuttle to and from the ceremony site to keep things simple and to alleviate any potential challenges for our guests (such as paying the park entrance fee, figuring out where to go, where to park, who the designated driver will be, etc). Guests will only need to arrange transportation to and from The Views At Superstition, which offers easy-to-find, convenient, and free parking. We want everyone to relax and enjoy the celebration, especially since many of you will be coming from out of town, out of state, or even out of the country! So sit back, and enjoy the ride to Lost Dutchman State Park! Please note that alcoholic beverages are not allowed inside the shuttle to and from Lost Dutchman State Park at any time.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! Our wedding ceremony will be outdoors at Lost Dutchman State Park at 4:00 PM, before the sun sets (around 5:20 PM local time during that time of the year). Guests will need to walk through rocky and uneven gravel pathways to get to their seats, and for that reason, stiletto, otherwise-thin heels, or open-toed shoes of any kind are not recommended for this portion of the wedding. In the (unlikely) event of rain, the ceremony will still carry on as long as the rain is light, and guests will be provided clear umbrellas by the venue staff. We still recommend checking the forecast ahead of time and planning accordingly. Once the ceremony is over, guests will be shuttled back to The Views At Superstition, where the reception will take place entirely indoors. Although there is an outside patio where guests can lounge at their leisure, this is completely optional and guests can stay inside for the remainder of the evening if they wish.

What time does the wedding reception end?

Answer

Our reception will go on until 10:00 PM, at which point the DJ will stop playing music and guests should start preparing to leave. While guests are not required to stay until that time, we would love to spend as much time as possible with everyone that evening.

Is there parking available at your wedding venue?

Answer

Yes! FREE, on-site self-parking is available for guests who will be driving to The Views At Superstition.

Anything else I should know about the venue?

Answer

Yes. Below are a few additional items every guest should be aware of: Alcohol Policy – There is absolutely NO outside alcohol allowed at The Views At Superstition. This is VERY IMPORTANT! If you violate this rule, the event will be terminated immediately and you will be liable for the entire cost of the wedding. Ok, we’re just kidding about that last part, but please, no outside alcohol! Accessibility – The Views At Superstition is located on the second floor of the Gold Canyon Village shopping plaza. Both, stairs and an elevator are available for the convenience and comfort of all guests. Bathrooms – The ceremony site (Lost Dutchman State Park) has permanent bathroom facilities that while located outdoors, are adequate and well-maintained. Our reception venue (The Views At Superstition) on the other hand, has standard bathrooms. If you are concerned about potentially having to use the state park’s bathroom, we recommend arriving early and using the bathrooms at The Views before boarding the shuttle to the ceremony.

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to limited venue space, we cannot accommodate plus-ones beyond those already invited. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on the envelope of your save the date and invitation (or WhatsApp message, if international), and no additional guests can be accommodated. We thank you in advance for understanding.

Are children invited to the ceremony and/or reception?

Answer

While we love kids, due to limited guest slots available and the setting of our wedding, only a few select children from our closest relatives will be present. As with plus-ones, we can only accommodate guests (including children) whose names are listed on the save-the-dates/invitations. Thank you for understanding! If you require babysitting accommodations (to attend the wedding) please reach out ASAP to Kelley Poynter.

What will the weather be like in Phoenix, Gold Canyon, and Apache Junction in mid December?

Answer

Winters in the Phoenix metro area are generally pleasant and sunny, with daytime temperatures ranging between 60°F (16°C) and 75°F (24°C). Typical of deserts, the temperature will begin to fall rapidly after sunset, reaching lows between 40°F (4°C) and 50°F (10°C). Please know that the weather in late fall/early winter can sometimes be unpredictable in the area. This means that (while unlikely) the temperature could be as high as 86°F (30°C) or as low as 32°F (0°C). Similarly, we anticipate mostly sunny skies, but a small chance of rain showers still exists. Our ceremony (Lost Dutchman State Park) and reception (The Views At Superstition) sites are located in Apache Junction, AZ and Gold Canyon, AZ, respectively. Both locations are about an hour outside of Phoenix and have a slightly higher elevation, meaning they experience more of a high-desert type of climate with temperatures of about 5°F to 10°F (3°C to 5°C) cooler than in the city, especially at night. Below are some recommendations: - Check the forecast ahead of time. - Pack clothes for both warm and cold weather, as one day could be almost “summer-like”, followed by a very chilly day. - Dress in layers (meaning jackets and/or sweaters than you can easily add or remove). - Pack lotion/moisturizer (for dry skin) and sunglasses, since even our “colder” winter days can be quite dry and sunny.

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

We would like for everyone to look nice while also being comfortable. As such, we recommend cocktail attire (semi-formal dress code typically seen at weddings, upscale parties, and professional events). Men: - Dress shirt and pants - Jacket or blazer optional Women: - Knee-length or midi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or elegant separates Below are a few additional guidelines we recommend our guests to follow: Shoes – Because our ceremony will be taking place outdoors in the desert, there is potential for uneven terrain and other hazards (like rocks and cacti). Therefore, guests should wear comfortable shoes that look presentable and avoid open-toed shoes or heels. If you are still set on wearing heels or open-toe shoes (which is totally fine), then we advise bringing a change for the reception, which will be inside. Additionally, we ourselves, our photographer, and others plan to wear Converse tennis shoes. While this is 100% optional, we encourage our guests to join us in wearing Converse shoes! Layers – Although our reception will take place inside, our ceremony will be outside, right before sunset. While we anticipate (and hope for) pleasant weather, one can never know for sure with Arizona. For your comfort, we recommend bringing a jacket since the temperature will become cooler as the ceremony progresses.

Are there any colors I SHOULD or should NOT wear?

Answer

That’s a great question! Our wedding colors are dusty blue and eucalyptus green. We ENCOURAGE guests to wear colors that coordinate with this palette, if they wish to do so. Out of respect for the bride, we kindly ask that women REFRAIN from wearing any shade of white (cream, off white, etc.) or red.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We plan to serve a variety of appetizers during cocktail hour, which will take place after the wedding ceremony ends. Dinner will be a buffet-style taco bar.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

We want everyone to be able to enjoy their meal on the day of our wedding. If you have any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.), please indicate that when you RSVP, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will have an open bar that will serve beer, wine, and signature cocktails. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.

Will there be a gift table?

Answer

Yes. Please know that your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift we would ask for! However, if you’d like to bring something, we will have a designated table for gifts, along with a box for cards at the reception.

What is the best airport to use?

Answer

While the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is technically the closest to Gold Canyon, AZ (where our wedding will take place), Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) will likely be the best option for most guests, as it will offer the most flights. Additionally, many guests will be staying closer to the Phoenix area than Apache Junction/Gold Canyon.

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

Because a large percentage of our guests have already arranged accommodations on their own, we have NOT made any block hotel reservations. However, we have some hotel recommendations, along with their highlights, listed in the Travel section of this site. Please note that if you plan to stay at a hotel or Airbnb, we recommend booking as early as possible, given that December is peak season for Phoenix, which can result in limited availability and/or higher prices. The same also applies if you plan to rent a car.

Will there be a shuttle to and from the hotel?

Answer

No. Our guests will be staying at many different locations throughout Phoenix (hotels, Airbnb’s, relatives’ and friends’ homes, etc.), which makes it impractical to offer a shuttle to and from all these places. At this moment, the only shuttle we plan to offer is between The Views At Superstition (our reception venue) and Lost Dutchman State Park (our ceremony site) on the day of the wedding.

¿Qué debo ponerme para la boda?

Answer

Nos gustaría que todos se vean elegantes, pero que también se sientan cómodos. Por ello, recomendamos un atuendo de cóctel (código de vestimenta semi-formal, típicamente visto en bodas, fiestas elegantes y eventos profesionales). Hombres: - Camisa de vestir y pantalones - Chaqueta o blazer opcionales Mujeres: - Vestidos hasta la rodilla o midi, monos elegantes o conjuntos formales y elegantes. A continuación, algunas pautas adicionales que recomendamos a nuestros invitados: - Zapatos – Dado que nuestra ceremonia se llevará a cabo al aire libre en el desierto, existe la posibilidad de terrenos irregulares y otros obstáculos (como piedras y cactus). Por lo tanto, los invitados deben usar zapatos cómodos que se vean presentables y evitar sandalias abiertas o tacones. Para tu comodidad, te recomendamos traer una chaqueta, ya que la temperatura será más fresca a medida que avance la ceremonia.

¿Hay algunos colores que debo o no debo ponerme?

Answer

¡Muy buena pregunta! Nuestros colores de boda son azul polvoriento y verde eucalipto. Los invitados pueden vestirse en colores que coordinen con esta paleta, si así lo desean. Por respeto a la novia, amablemente pedimos que las daman EVITEN vestir en cualquier tono de blanco (crema, blanquecino, etc.) o rojo.

¿Qué tipo de comida será servida en la boda?

Answer

Planeamos servir una variedad de aperitivos durante la hora del cóctel, la cual tendrá lugar una vez se termine la ceremonia de boda. La cena será un bar de tacos estilo bufé.

¿Qué debo hacer si tengo alguna restricción dietética?

Answer

Queremos que todos puedan disfrutar sus alimentos el día de nuestra boda. Si tienes alguna restricción dietética (vegetariana, vegana, sin gluten, etc.), favor indicarla al completar tu confirmación de asistencia (RSVP), y haremos lo mejor para acomodarla.

Answer

Si, tendremos un bar abierto que servirá cerveza, vino, y cócteles exclusivos. Bebidas sin alcohol también estarán disponibles.

¿Habrá una mesa de regalos?

Answer

Si. ¡Queremos que todos sepan que la presencia de nuestros invitados es verdaderamente el mayor regalo que pudiéramos pedir en nuestra boda! Si aún así te gustaría traer algo, tendremos una mesa dedicada para regalos, así como también tendremos un buzón para tarjetas en la recepción.

¿Cuál es el mejor aeropuerto para utilizar?

Answer

Aunque el Aeropuerto Phoenix-Mesa Gateway es técnicamente es más cercano a Gold Canyon, Arizona (donde nuestra boda tendrá lugar), el Aeropuerto Internacional Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) probablemente será la mejor opción para la mayoría de nuestros invitados, ya que este ofrecerá muchas más opciones de vuelos. Además, muchos invitados se alojarán más cerca al área de Phoenix que de Apache Junction y/o Gold Canyon.

¿Han reservado un bloque de habitaciones en uno o varios hoteles?

Answer

Como una gran cantidad de nuestros invitados ya han coordinado sus acomodaciones independientemente, NO hemos hecho ninguna reserva de hotel. Sin embargo, tenemos listadas algunas recomendaciones de hoteles, incluyendo aspectos destacados para cada uno, en la sección “Travel” de este sitio web. Favor tener en cuenta que si planeas alojarte en un hotel o Airbnb, recomendamos reservar lo antes posible, ya que diciembre es temporada alta para Phoenix, lo cual puede resultar en disponibilidad limitada y/o tarifas más altas. El mismo criterio también aplica para rentar un carro.

No. Nuestros invitados se quedarán en muchos lugares distintos en el área de Phoenix (hoteles, Airbnb, casas de familiares y amigos, etc.), por lo cual sería impráctico ofrecer transporte a todos estos lugares. Por el momento, el único transporte que planeamos proporcionar es entre The Views At Superstition (el lugar de nuestra recepción de boda) y Lost Dutchman State Park (el lugar de nuestra ceremonia) el día de la boda.
