Byron will claim that I once stood him up, which isn't true. I politely cancelled our date via text claiming an illness, which is infinitely better than standing someone up! Fast forward a year and Byron worked up the nerve to invite me to his friends' wedding that was in a week. The wedding was in Panama City Beach and he planned to stay in his camper with his scruffy dog Pilot. All I heard was that I finally had the opportunity to take my dog Sky on his first beach trip! So our first "date" was a beach getaway with both pups, and we haven't stopped adventuring since. We both participated in the local SUP club at River Dog Outpost (now Cosmic Dog Outpost) and our first month of dating ended with a 48 mile paddle from the Allatoona Dam to Heritage Park in Rome, GA (that's a little over 11 hours of paddle boarding). We owe a great deal to our River Dog group of friends, who apparently determined Byron and I should be together before we did, and of course to all our family and friends for rooting for us!
