FAQs

The Wedding Website of Robyn Scott and Adam Jewell
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP ASAP so we can lock in some of our plans (and start getting way too excited about seeing you!). If we haven’t heard from you, we’ll have to assume you can’t make it, which would honestly bum us out. So please let us know, and help us make our big day as fun—and full of friends and family—as possible!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are not registered. We kindly request no gifts for our wedding. Celebrating with you is what we care about most!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our wedding will be held on a boat, and boarding begins at 5pm. If you’re late, the boat (and the party) may have already left the pier!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire is the vibe—think collared shirts, blouses, sports coats, slacks, dresses, or whatever makes you feel fantastic. The boardwalk at the Wharf includes many areas with cobblestones. High heels might be difficult if you plan on exploring the Wharf area. DC is chilly in January, so don’t forget a coat. (Don’t worry, we’ll be cozy inside for the ceremony and reception.)

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

You will place your order for dinner once onboard the vessel. Be sure to tell your waiter about any food allergies and they will be sure to accommodate.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The closest and most convenient parking option is the garage at 602 Water St SW, Washington, DC. This garage is just a short walk from Pier 4, where our wedding cruise will depart. It’s located right at The Wharf, making it easy to find and a popular choice for events and cruises in the area. A few tips: The Wharf can get busy, especially on weekends or during special events, so we recommend arriving a little early to allow time for parking and walking to the pier. After parking, simply follow signs to The Wharf and Pier 4—it’s an easy, scenic stroll to the dock. If the 602 Water St SW garage is full, there are additional garages and lots nearby at The Wharf. Signs and attendants can direct you to available spaces. If you are staying at a hotel at the DC Wharf, Pier 4 is walking distance.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

The District Wharf is easily walkable. Most hotels are within 2 blocks of the wedding venue (Intercontinental Hotel is the farthest, at 4 blocks).

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We absolutely adore your little ones! That said, because our wedding is taking place on a boat (and boats are only so big — trust us, we checked twice), we've had to keep our guest list pretty tight. We’re only able to include our own kids and the children of our out-of-town guests who can’t easily arrange care back home. We hope you understand this tricky bit of logistics!

Question

Can I bring a guest with me?

Answer

When you RSVP, you’ll see all the names of the wonderful folks we’ve included in your party — if someone’s listed, they’re invited! Because the boat only has so much room (and we’d like to avoid a Titanic reenactment), we aren’t able to accommodate additional guests beyond those specifically named. Thanks so much for understanding, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
