It all started when I moved to Seabrook, TX when I was 11 years old and my parents enrolled me in a class right next door to AJ's...and that is when we first met. As most of you know, this is not where our true love story begins. In 2011, AJ and I became inseparable best friends. As we matured through high school and began planning our futures, February 14, 2014, we officially started dating. It was a love that I never could imagine experiencing!
AJ had been planning on asking me to be his girlfriend for months and finally on Valentine's Day of our senior year he asked me. I woke up to flowers, balloons, a ring from James Avery, and a cookie cake that asked "Will you be my little cookie?" A ridiculous insider we had during high school. Over the past 7 years we have graduated college, become nurses, bought a new house, and started our lives here in Austin.
When AJ and I had started dating in high school I remember him telling me he knew exactly how he would propose to me in the future. I was always in awe of this because how could he know what I would still want and like in 5 years? Well he definitely knows me and apparently not much about myself has changed! I figured out AJ was taking me to Moody Gardens to see the penguins (my favorite thing in the world) but thought it was just to see the exhibit and was a christmas gift - boy was I wrong! When we arrived I overheard the lady saying "Penguin Encounter for 2" and the tears started rolling! I would get to be in the same room as a penguin. We are waiting to go in and I could tell AJ was acting weird but I was too distracted by the penguins to think much of it. During these encounters the penguins paint photos with their feet and when the painted canvas was handed to me was the moment I looked on the back and it said, "Will you marry me?" Can I tell you a word AJ said to me? Nope! I was overfilled with emotions and could not believe what was happening. After AJ gave me my gorgeous ring he spent 4 hours designing himself, the penguin sat on my lap and I got to sit there with my favorite man and animal all at once. Talk about a dream come true!
