During the height of COVID, both Rob and Grace decided to test their luck on the dating app Hinge. Rob came across Grace’s profile and was drawn to her smile and a specific picture of Grace in a very small orange top. Rob messaged Grace first: a long message that really set him apart. Grace, intrigued by his unique way of conversation, and also the fact that he was incredibly good-looking and a ginger, messaged back. Chit-chatting on the app didn’t last too long as they exchanged numbers and scheduled their first date. They planned to go on a walk after work, at the Montana de Oro bluff trail. This is where it all started. From talking about work, college, personal life, athletics, future goals, and dreams, they knew they were going to be seeing a lot more of each other. From that moment forward, they spent almost every possible moment they could with one another. One night, Grace told Rob that she had something to ask him. Yes, contrary to what Rob remembers, Grace asked Rob to be her boyfriend. Thankfully, he said yes, and their love story continued to flourish. They continued to make the best memories: walking on the beach with Paisley, staying up late to talk about their future, going on trips to places they had never been before, surprising each other with gifts, flowers, and letters, having family dinners with Grace’s parents, and finally making the big step of moving in with one another. Their love blossomed, and on January 1st, 2023, at the beach in Cayucos, Rob made it official by getting down on one knee and asking Grace to marry him! Grace said yes without hesitation!
