For days, Joe kept the ring in his pocket, skillfully avoiding it being discovered, even through airport security. After arriving in Punta Cana and checking in at the resort, Joe arranged a dinner that he thought would be on the beach, but turned out to be at the resort’s steakhouse (which was still very lovely, but not romantic enough for Joe’s proposal, so the ring stayed in his pocket during dinner). After leaving dinner, Joe and Lisa entered a beautiful Spanish courtyard, lit up by hundreds of strands of lights. It was then Joe knew that this would be the place. A waitress passed and Lisa asked the waitress if she could take their picture. The waitress took several photos and handed back the phone. But then Joe asked, “Could you take one more, please?” Lisa handed the waitress back the phone and as she turned back to Joe, she found him on one knee. It was then he asked her to marry him. With joyful tears, Lisa said yes and the couple went on to enjoy a week in Punta Cana celebrating their engagement.
