I love looking back to when I first met Libee, not realizing that I was meeting my future wife. There was a feeling I had when we spent our first day together that I hadn’t felt before. I was almost confused by it, but I now realize what people mean when they say “When you know, you know”. She had been in town for a three day music festival, and I had offered up my place for her to stay. On day one we spent time together talking about our lives. On day two we got into deeper conversation, and literally talked until the sun came up the next morning. That was also that same night I told her that I liked her (yes this was only the second day). Day three we only felt our connection getting stronger, and by the time the weekend was over I knew I couldn’t live without her. Since then, every day has been a joy to spend with her. She brings out the best in me. She makes me want to be the best man I can be. She’s everything I wish I was. She has shown me what true love feels like and I am forever grateful to her for that. We’ve already made so many amazing memories, and I can’t wait to make endless more.

Picture this: the coldest, snowiest, and iciest day of the year. You’re all cozied up watching big snowflakes fall in the morning with your favorite person aka Jonathan. Seems like a good day to stay in right? Jonathan was determined to make sure we made our plans that day with some of our friends to go to the Biltmore. It was very sweet, he didn’t want to cancel on them. So I get ready, and get this butterfly feeling that maybe… just maybe, something special was happening that day. Earlier that morning Jonathan and I were talking about life and how happy we were to have found someone we could be goofy with. After belly laughing together, I look over and he’s got such a big smile on his face and a little teary eyed. In that moment I thought “I think today might be it!”. We head to the Biltmore and unknown to me, our two sets of parents walk right in front of us and I completely miss them. Little did I know Jonathan had planned all of this before hand. I had no idea what was waiting on the other side for me. We walk up to the Biltmore which looked straight out of a fairytale, and he walks me over to in front of the fountain. Something on his face told me my butterfly feeling that morning was right! I was so excited that it was finally happening that joy overtook and I started jumping up and down! My favorite part of the proposal? When he quoted the first movie we ever watched together: “You have bewitched me body and soul; and I love you”. If you know, you know. I cannot express how excited I am to spend the rest of my life with my other puzzle piece and the person who makes me feel like the best version of myself!
