Our Engagement ❤️

How we met

#happilyerikafter

Years ago, Erik decided to start taking dance lessons as a way to meet new people aka women. Fun fact, this is one of the main reasons why men enter the dance scene. As he would tell it, he ended up spending so much time focusing on the steps that he ended up not talking to hardly anyone 😂. Jenna was the instructor of these dance classes and as she would tell it, Erik was so quiet that she knew absolutely nothing about him other than the fact that he seemed nice and no one ever had anything bad to say about him. Eventually Erik joined a performance team and spent more time in the studio, but still they never talked much on a personal level until one day all of that changed. Jenna had tried various times to initiate conversations with Erik that had nothing to do with dance to hint to him that she wanted to get to know him on a more personal level, but he wasn’t taking the hint. Then she literally “slid into his DMs” on Instagram and would comment on his posts about how good the Mexican food looked and asked where it was from and how they should go sometime *hint hint*. Still nothing. Then one day Jenna (again in the DMs) asked Erik what his plans were for the day as it was a hot summer day. He explained how there was a group of dancers from the studio going to the beach and was debating on going there or a local pond close by. Jenna had never heard of the pond despite living down the street from it and asked a bunch of questions about it. She then suggested that if he was debating between the two that he should go to the pond. He responded, “ok sounds good, I can pick you up at 2” 😲. At no point did Jenna think she was a part of this plan and then freaked out because she was thinking “is this a date?, Are there other people going?,” etc. A few hours later he shows up, alone, and they spent the entire day at the pond talking and getting to know one another: their first date (in Jenna’s mind). From Erik’s side, he would say he just thought Jenna needed friends 🤣. They both realized that they had a lot in common and enjoyed the same things, spent a lot of time together, and the rest was history 🥰.

For all the days along the way
