Jackie just graduated from UVA in Charlottesville, Virginia, with a double major in Biology and Spanish. Josh just graduated from VT in Blacksburg, Virginia, with a major in Aerospace Engineering. They will be relocating to Tallahassee, Florida, for Josh's new job with Pursuit Aerospace!

Jackie and Josh met in Ocean City, Maryland, while serving on a summer mission with Cru. They first met in The Preserve (the team's house) on May 30th, 2023, the first day of the mission. Over the first two weeks, they spent a lot of late nights up in the loft getting to know each other, talking about everything from Josh's top 100 movies to clinical research. After a week of spending some intentional time apart (or at least trying to), on June 16th, 2023, they decided to date!

Josh proposed to Jackie on a sunrise hike at Ragged Mountain in Charlottesville, Virginia, on May 3rd, 2025. On the day, Josh got up at 4 AM to drive out to Ragged Mountain and run down the trail in the dark to plant a glass jar of sunflowers (her favorite) behind a tree as a surprise. After some difficulty, mainly a locked door and some wrong turns, Josh successfully hid the flowers and made it to Jackie's house with two minutes to spare. As they packed up and left the house together, unbeknownst to Jackie, Josh slipped the ring box into her backpack. ... Just as the sun rose, Jackie and Josh made it to the end of the first peninsula. After wandering around for a few minutes, Jackie was very surprised when Josh walked over and pulled out the flowers. He finally got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. And she said yes!
