Hyatt Ziva Cancun

There's 2 sections in Hyatt Ziva Cancun. The family-friendly section is booked under the Hyatt Ziva Cancun. The adults-only section of the hotel is booked under Turquoize at Hyatt Ziva. Please note maximum number of people allowed in a room is 4 regardless of age and this is strictly enforced. If you are a party of 5, you will be required to book 2 separate rooms. Currently priced: • Hyatt Ziva Cancun: $490 per room, per night for double occupancy NON-REFUNDABLE • Hyatt Ziva Cancun: $560 per room, per night for double occupancy REFUNDABLE up to 14 days before check-in. • Turquoize at Hyatt Ziva Cancun: $602 per room, per night for double occupancy NON-REFUNDABLE • Turquoize at Hyatt Ziva Cancun: $688 per room, per night for double occupancy REFUNDABLE up to 14 days before check-in. All-inclusive meaning all food and all drinks are covered in the cost for the duration of your stay. Non-motorized water activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboards are included.

Disclaimer I would strongly recommend that you book directly with the airlines and the hotel vs. using a booking engine like Expedia, Booking.com, etc. The pandemic has created a lot of challenges for travel and booking engine clients will have their reservations cancelled before direct clients do, often without advanced notice. I would also highly encourage everyone to get travel insurance for their trip. The hotel cancellation policy only provides a refund if you cancel up to 14 days in advance of your arrival date. Travel insurance will allow you to at least get a portion of your costs refunded.

Flight

United, southwest, American, Delta, Aeromexico

Flight Information Houston has non-stop flights available to Cancun (airport code CUN) on both United and Southwest. As of today, 10/14/21 the United flights are around $350 per person. Southwest is not booking that far in advance yet and I will update this page when they open those dates up. Baton Rouge does not have non-stop flights available. There are flights with a layover on several major airlines including United, American, Delta and Aeromexico and they are currently around $450 per person.

Travel Insurance

Airline credit cards and certain major credit cards like Capital One Venture and Chase Sapphire have travel protection as a benefit of being a cardholder so if you own one of these credit cards, check your travel insurance benefits. Travel insurance is typically very reasonably priced. The cost of the policy depends on how much coverage you want, the cost of your trip and your age. Policies are booked after you’ve booked your trip but coverage for pre-existing conditions is voided if you buy your policy more than 21 days after your initial trip payment. COVID INFO

COVID Testing to Return to the US As of 10/14/21, a negative COVID test is required to return to the US. If this requirement is still in place at the time of the wedding, the hotel offers complimentary COVID testing for all guests staying at least 3 nights. If you are staying less than 3 nights, you likely can get tested at the hotel for a fee (I will be confirming this information). If you are flying United, you can also purchase a test kit to bring with you and administer yourself while on a video call with a representative. As we get closer to the wedding date I will update this section with more information if it is still relevant.
