How we met

May 2018

We began writing each other on churchofchristsingles.com. I found Chase hilarious and he was so fun and easy to talk to. We decided to pursue a long distance relationship and in October he came to meet me for the first time. We had a blast that weekend! We went to all my favorite places around Jonesboro. We went to the nearby state parks and the nature center. I noticed Chase was so easy going and went along with anything I wanted to do even though he was dog tired after driving 10+ hours for a weekend! Before that weekend I knew that Chase was special but after that I knew I wanted him in my life forever!

Meeting Bethany’s family

November 2019

We had talked about our future together for awhile and the next step was meeting each others families. Chase flew in for Thanksgiving and it was the best week! My parents instantly loved Chase! That week I got to take Chase to where I grew up to watch a football game. I cooked for him for the first time. And we went to see the King, Elvis Presley!! We had a little mishap when our truck broke down at Graceland before having to take Chase to the airport. So we caught a cab and had a very memorable trip to the airport to say the least! After that visit things really changed. We decided it was time for me to move to Texas.

Bethany’s big move

February 2020-March 2020

I booked a trip for 5 days in February. That meant I had 5 days to find a job and a place to live. I got to working on my resume and I also had to take a test in order to be a pharmacy technician in Texas. Talk about stressful!! Anyways once I got to Texas I already had 3 interviews lined out. The first 2 left me feeling pretty discouraged, but the 3rd one offered me a job on the spot! Talk about excited!! So our next challenge was finding a place to live. We looked at several places and again I was very discouraged. We felt defeated. We dedided to give it one last shot and picked up a newspaper and there was a cabin listed. We went to look at it and it was absolutely perfect! Chase put a deposit on it right then. I had 2 weeks to move!! Everything happened so quickly but so perfectly, its clear God was with us all along and had a hand in everything! So I packed up my little apartment in Arkansas and on March 6th moved to Texas!

Meeting Chase’s Family

May 15th-17th

Chase’s brother had moved back from South Korea so we made plans to go visit his family for a weekend! I had to work that Friday so we headed to Midland, Tx as soon as I got off work. We made it to their house around midnight and even though we were super tired we stayed up till about 2 just talking and getting our dogs aquainted. On Saturday Chase and Tanner (Chase’s brother) took me to Odessa to see where they grew up. My favorite part was getting to see real, live, wild prairie dogs!!! That evening one of Chase’s good friends came over and we played card games and had a blast! The next morning we had quarantine style church at the Hooper’s home then Chase and I packed up and headed back to Kerrville. After that trip I just knew I belonged in Chase’s family. Everyone made me feel at home and I will forever cherish the talks I got to have with Chase’s parents that weekend!

The proposal

June 21, 2020

Actually this started back in May. We began talking about looking for engagement rings. I still thought this was a ways off but what was the harm in looking?? So we went to a few places locally and I fell in love with a ring at the first place we went. The next weekend we decided we would go to San Antonio to look at more options. We went to 1 store there and were so overwhelmed with all the options, so we went straight back to Kerrville to the store that had the ring I loved! We looked at the ring again but i still thought we were just getting an idea of what we both liked. Little did I know that Chase had already asked for permission to marry me from my parents. I also didn’t know Chase went back that same day and bought my ring! We had a little trip planned for later in July. We had talked about going to a cave in San Antonio. So I kinda thought in the back of my mind that maybe Chase would ask me then. June 21st came along and I had to work that day. It was a Sunday and I had to work until 4. I was so ready to get off because it was our 2 year anniversary and Chase had planned on grilling steaks! When I finally got home Chase was already at my place and he told me he had a surprise for me in the back of his truck. So we went outside to the truck and I opened the back door and there were the most beautiful red roses in a vase! When I turned around Chase was on his knee and asked me to marry him!!

For all the days along the way
