Myriad Botanical Gardens
This one is extra special to us, because it’s where we got engaged! 💍 Nestled in the heart of downtown, the gardens are gorgeous whether you’re wandering the outdoor paths or exploring the Crystal Bridge Conservatory.
Scissortail Park
Scissortail Park will always have a soft spot in our hearts because it’s where we had our first date. If you want to recreate it: start at Social Capital for craft beer and nachos 🍻 and then take a walk around the park and across the Skydance Bridge.
Plaza District
The Plaza District is one of the most vibrant, artsy, eclectic neighborhoods in OKC — full of murals, creative energy, great food, and local shops. Ma Der Lao THE best restaurant in Oklahoma City. Get the crispy rice salad and the fried chicken. Trust us — you will thank us later. Empire Slice House We’re regulars here for pizza 🍕 Blake has tried everything on the menu, and Anna refuses to eat anything without the pink dipping sauce.
Midtown
Some of our go-to spots in Midtown for food + exploring: Bar Arbolada A special Midtown favorite. Anna was a regular here for years with her Maid of Honor, Lauren, and the bartenders always knew she wanted an espresso martini when she walked in. Also the location of one of our early dates, so it holds a permanent spot in our hearts. Harvey Bakery A contender for best bakery and coffee spot in OKC. The pastries are excellent and the line is worth it 🥐 Barrios Modern Mexican spot with a fantastic menu. Get the avocado margarita. The Goose A specialty sandwich shop — great lunch stop in Midtown 🥪
Chicken N Pickle - Oklahoma City
For those who love a little friendly competition, Chicken N Pickle is the place to be. Indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, yard games, drinks, and a big patio atmosphere make it a guaranteed good time. It’s a great option for groups or anyone who wants to burn off energy before the wedding cake. With Blake’s tennis background 🎾 he maintains a very serious feud with pickleball, but even he will admit this place is a good time.
Paseo Arts District
The Paseo is colorful, creative, and full of charm — galleries, studios, boutiques, and some of our favorite restaurants. Gorō Ramen Great ramen with consistently excellent bowls and a relaxed atmosphere. Worth braving a hot bowl in August 🍜 Sauced on Paseo Casual pizza spot with a fun patio vibe and free arcade games — great for entertaining kids 🎮 Picasso Café Eclectic, arts-focused restaurant with a diverse menu (including great vegetarian options).
Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum
A deeply meaningful and powerful experience that honors the victims, survivors, and heroes of the 1995 bombing. The outdoor memorial is peaceful and beautifully designed, and the museum is unforgettable. If you’ve never been, it’s a moving and important stop during your time here.
First Americans Museum
A must-visit for out-of-town guests. This museum highlights the history, culture, and stories of the 39 First American Nations in Oklahoma. The exhibits are powerful, the architecture is stunning, and it’s an important and meaningful way to understand the heritage of this region.
OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark
A new resort and indoor waterpark just south of downtown — great for families looking for an easy all-day activity during the weekend. If you're traveling with children, this is a convenient option close to hotels and dining. A friendly reminder that children (outside of the wedding party) are not permitted at the ceremony or reception, so plan ahead for childcare on the wedding day.
OAK OKC
A newer upscale shopping and dining area in northwest OKC – right by where Blake and Anna live! Shake Shack Fast-casual burgers, fries, and shakes done well. A nationwide fan favorite! 🍔 The Capital Grille Classic upscale steakhouse with a more formal dining experience. Great for (another) celebratory dinner. Mesero Modern Tex-Mex with great cocktails and a sleek atmosphere. Solid choice for dinner with a little extra style 🌮 RH Rooftop Restaurant A stunning rooftop dining space above the Restoration Hardware showroom. Beautiful interiors, a great view, and an elevated experience that’s perfect for a long lunch or a nice dinner.
Art Museums
OKC Museum of Art If you love art and culture, you’ll enjoy the OKC Museum of Art — home to world-famous Chihuly glass and rotating exhibits. Oklahoma Contemporary A beautifully designed art space with free admission 🎨 Fun fact: this is where Anna takes pottery classes!
Edmond Railyard
