FAQs

Question

So are you guys actually already married or what?

Answer

Yes, we are married. Due to COVID, we had to push back wedding plans but due to life, it was important that we eloped sooner that the ceremony.

Question

Are you guys going to be there longer than the wedding weekend?

Answer

Yes, we are planning on tagging several days on the front and back end. Tentative dates Liz and Scott will be out in Key West are September 20th thru 27th. We plan on going to Dry Tortugas for one of those days so if any guests want to tag along, please let us know and plan accordingly. We are definitely interested in getting a big Air-BnB with friends and family for some of those days. :)

Question

Do I need a car?

Answer

It certainly helps to get to the island, but once you're there, getting around by foot or scooter or bike or public transportation is all quite easy (and sometime preferred as parking spaces can be at a premium). There will be a shuttle from the Havana Cabana to Smathers Beach and back for the ceremony.

Question

Do we have to stay at the Havana Cabana?

Answer

No. We have a block of 10 rooms under our wedding, but their are plenty of other lodging options including hotels, camping, and other rentals on the island. However, it is recommended that you secure lodging promptly (at least several months prior to your trip). We plan on securing all our lodging for our entire stay by the end of January 2022.

Question

Can we bring pets?

Answer

We feel that Key West and Havana Cabana are very pet-friendly. That being said, please consider boarding your pet for the ceremony and reception. Dog Beach is nice for dogs, but Smathers Beach, and Fort Zachary Taylor Beach does not allow dogs. We discovered Sombrero Beach in Marathon, about an hour north of Key West, and that was a GREAT pet-friendly beach to spend the day at.

Question

What will happen if a hurricane is predicted for the wedding weekend?

Answer

The safety of our friends and family is our primary concern. If a hurricane is predicted to make landfall that weekend, we will cancel plans and reschedule. Make sure any plans you commit to have a weather/natural disaster contingency, if you have to provide a deposit.

Question

Should I bring my kids?

Answer

Probably not a good idea. This will be a very adult-oriented event so we ask that you please refrain from bringing children under 16.

Question

Is there more information?

Answer

We will be updating the website as new information is available. Please check our website regularly and make sure your contact information is accurate.
