This includes having twice the national average police force required by the Mexican government and a specific task force of tourist police. The general crime rate falls significantly below many tourist cities in the US such as Miami or Las Vegas. As always it’s recommended that visitors take general precautions.
No. Taxis and car rentals are available in the area, and they are safe. However, if you would like options, we list a few car rental sites on the travel page if you want references. From the Hotel Samba, Puerto Vallarta is about a 30 to 40 minute ride. Upon arrival finding parking there will be a bit tricky. Plus, Hotel Samba is all inclusive so you don't need to wander far to have fun.
Yes! Taking a taxi or Uber is safe. Write down the address or landmark to which you are headed to assist the driver. Getting a taxi from the airport to the hotel requires you to pick up a ticket at the taxi booth outside. Taxis from the airport are more expensive but they are fixed prices based on zones.
The closest airport is Puerto Vallarta, located about 25 minutes from Nuevo Vallarta. Most flights have at least one stopover.
