FAQs

Question

Can I RSVP without having booked my flight?

Answer

Yes. We hope to get a head count early on. We ask about your arrival so we can help book pickup transportation if several people are arriving around the same time.

Question

Is Nuevo Vallarta safe?

Answer

Yes! Nuevo and Puerto Vallarta’s economies revolve around tourism and as such have taken additional steps to ensure a peaceful and delightful stay for visitors. This includes having twice the national average police force required by the Mexican government and a specific task force of tourist police. The general crime rate falls significantly below many tourist cities in the US such as Miami or Las Vegas. As always it’s recommended that visitors take general precautions.

Question

Do you recommend renting a car?

Answer

No. Taxis and car rentals are available in the area, and they are safe. However, if you would like options, we list a few car rental sites on the travel page if you want references. From the Hotel Samba, Puerto Vallarta is about a 30 to 40 minute ride. Upon arrival finding parking there will be a bit tricky. Plus, Hotel Samba is all inclusive so you don't need to wander far to have fun.

Question

Can I take a taxi to the hotel and into town?

Answer

Yes! Taking a taxi or Uber is safe. Write down the address or landmark to which you are headed to assist the driver. Getting a taxi from the airport to the hotel requires you to pick up a ticket at the taxi booth outside. Taxis from the airport are more expensive but they are fixed prices based on zones.

Question

What is the closest airport and are there non-stop flights?

Answer

The closest airport is Puerto Vallarta, located about 25 minutes from Nuevo Vallarta. Most flights have at least one stopover.

Question

What weather can I plan for during the month of January?

Answer

Temperatures for Nuevo Vallarta: high of low 80s and low of high 60s.

Question

Can I arrive before January 3 or stay after January 6?

Answer

Yes! Please make your own accommodations to stay before or after, there is a lot to enjoy in the area!

Question

Is it safe to drink the water in Nuevo and Puerto Vallarta?

Answer

Just as in the United States and Canada the majority of resorts as well as many private homes have their own drinking water filtration systems. However, in the old parts of the city and in restaurants within Puerto Vallarta the use of bottled drinking water is standard practice due to old pipes.

Question

Is childcare available?

Answer

The hotel does have sitters available for an additional cost.
