I asked my mother to come along with me to a Singles Match event that was held at the Longbranch in Raleigh in July 2003. All Singles objective were to meet other Singles and fill out the information cards given by the sponsor for the duration of the proceeding. I spotted Robert during the course of the evening staring at me as I walked around the club to meet other singles. He was sitting at the top level of the club when I first noticed him, then as the night progressed, I noticed he kept moving down to lower level tables. By the end of the evening, he finally made his way to a table next to where my mother was sitting. After I made my way back to my Mother's table, Robert asked my mother to borrow the ashtray on our table. My Mom evidently liked him from the start because at that moment she looked over at me and asked Robert if he met her daughter yet, so we introduced ourselves and asked the questions on the card we were given. We both decided to leave the club at the same time, of course Mom asked if we exchanged phone numbers, so I wrote his down on the back of a tissue, and he used a business card to get my phone number. Mom was ecstatic at the fact that I met Robert. As we drove home, It seemed as though Robert was following us, or at least going the same way we were . At a stoplight, My Mom and I got to watch him take his shirt off and change into another shirt. I yelled out the window to him asking if he wanted to go to a 4th of July party held by one of my co-workers, he said yes and to call him... We started out as friends and saw each other quite often. Come to find out we both lived in a small town called Youngsville, had the same house number 120, the same Dr office, Dentist and Eye Doctor. His Aunt also lived next door to a guy my mom was dating at the time, in Lake Gaston, I guess you can say it was Kismet-....the rest is history......20 years married and still in Love.....
