Robert and Savannah met where all soul mates do, on Tinder. They had their first date on July 7th, 2015 at the Black Fedora in downtown Charleston after Robert broke a cardinal rule and double texted Savannah about Mumford and Sons (two cardinal rules if you ask Savannah). During the date, Savannah went to the restroom and came back to an empty table. “A little early to be ghosting me,” she thought to herself. Lucky for both of them, he came back from the car with a jacket for Savannah. Savannah went back to Furman for her senior year where Robert visited most weekends. If they hadn't gotten along so well Robert might have done a little better at Nuclear Power School, but he wouldn't have been able to attend nearly as many sorority functions and it would be even weirder that he wears so many sorority T-shirts today. They eventually moved to Hawaii, where Robert was stationed aboard the USS Tucson, a fast-attack submarine. While living in Oahu they managed to have some amazing adventures together in Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, and the other Hawaiian Islands despite two 7-month deployments. Somewhere between those two deployments, Savannah started painting her nails consistently and with increasing aggression. Robert finally did his part and proposed on November 19, 2018 on Waikiki Beach. They couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get married on a beach in Hawaii, so on December 16th, 2018, they did just that. In an intimate ceremony with Savannah’s sister, Chelsea, and Robert’s best friend of 11 years, Scott, they tied the knot on Waimanalo Beach. Though it was beautiful, Savannah and Robert are most looking forward to celebrating their union with their family and friends. Savannah and Robert settled in Groton, CT where Robert is stationed at the Submarine Learning Center and Savannah works at the Naval Submarine Medical Research Lab. They have 2 Samoyed puppies, Keena and Kobe, who they are obsessed with enough to include in the wedding festivities.
