Bob had set a dating profile online, Vicky also did. At the time, Vicky was based in Mexico but travelling back and forth to the USA. It was an instant match with Bob and they could already find many common interests: Pickleball, healthy living, socialising, travelling, scuba diving... They video called a few times (yes, they both wanted to see the "product" first!). On their first conversation, Bob stood in the middle of the pathway he was in and said: "this is what you get..." moving the phone up and down, showing his full body. Vicky was already very amused by Bob's sense of humour. When they finally met at the end of January (Sunday 30th January), they finished each others sentences and the rest is history. Bob couldn't stop kissing Vicky at start and he still can't... The journey continues!
Vicky had a clue but yet, he surprised her! Bob wanted the perfect ring for his love, so he took Vicky "shopping". This way, Vicky could pick the design she liked. They then went to NYC where Bob negotiated to get the best stone... They came back to Florida where Bob had in mind to take Vicky back to the restaurant they first met at (Abe and Louie's) and surprise her then. The reservation was meant to be for Saturday and Bob made it obvious while reserving by saying to the waitress on the phone "Saturday is a very important day". But... comes Thursday (27th April - a memorable date for us !). While they were together in the car coming back from shopping, Bob changed direction and headed to Abe and Louie's saying "oh well, we can change the plans". After a wonderful dinner, Bob took Victoria to the beach: they headed to the lifeguard station n.22 in Delray (historic spot from now on!!). Vicky wasn't too sure what was happening then as she turned around to watch the stars, Bob kneeled down... he was holding a precious box and asked Vicky to marry him. Vicky had a few questions to ask before responding which surprised Bob and amused him at the same time but Vicky said YES... and the journey continued!
Due to immigration purposes and personal reasons, our first wedding date was postponed. And the second wedding date as well. But yet, we were not giving up. Love was stronger than our differences and we decided to take our time and learn more about each others. We decided to learn what unconditional love was about: loving without restrictions, without judgement, without wanting to change the other. Simply accepting and embracing our differences. In July, Victoria has enough waiting. She told Bob and he said: of course I have your back. Let's get married. This time, Bob was serious about it and wouldn't walk away. We therefore got married on 25th July 2023 by a good Rotarian friend of ours and had a very intimate dinner celebrating. Now it is time for us to officialise our engagement before all of you and celebrate in style! We hope you will be able to join us.
