2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Join us for a relaxed afternoon at the beach as our families get to know each other before the wedding! We'll be set up on the grass at the south end of Kellogg Park, near the playground at La Jolla Shores, just steps from the sand. Snacks will be out starting at 2:30 pm, with sandwiches around 4:00 pm - come whenever works best for you. La Jolla Shores is perfect for swimming, kids splashing, and boogie boarding, so bring towels, swimsuits, sunscreen, shade, and whatever makes you comfortable.
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Attire suggestions: Semi-formal. Our ceremony is in a chapel, followed by a relaxed reception. Suits or sport coats, dress shirts and slacks for men; dresses, skirts or dressy pantsuits for women. Feel free to coordinate with our palette: off-white, mid-grey and blush (for the photos).
We are honored to be married in the chapel at La Jolla Presbyterian Church, a place that holds deep meaning for both of us. Bob is a Presbyterian minister and Sharon attended La Jolla Presbyterian regularly with her family as a youth. The chapel is especially meaningful to us as this is where Sharon's parents, Doug and Ginny Nau, were married 74 years ago. We look forward to beginning our married life together in a space rooted in faith, family, and enduring love. Children are welcome for the ceremony and celebration dinner to follow.
4:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Please join us following the ceremony for a seaside celebration at George's at the Cove in their ocean view semi-private dining room on the lower level. Guests will be welcomed with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a champagne toast and a three-course dinner with thoughtfully paired wines. We look forward to sharing good food, warm conversation, and joyful company in a setting which reflects the spirit of the day. Children are welcome. Proximity to La Jolla Cove allows parents to step outside with children if needed.
