It all started in 2011 when I started as a Freshman at Florida College. I knew of this goofy guy named Robert who was the President of Arete but I never talked to him. We had English class together but we never had any interaction. It all came together in 2017 when he decided to message me on Instagram after we had liked each others pictures. The conversation was simple. We asked about how life was and what we were up to, but little did we know this would lead to dating and even marriage. We talked for about two months before we even met up in person, but once we spent time together I knew I was going to be in trouble. He was the sweetest guy I could of ever hoped for and continues to treat me that way.
He tricked me into thinking that we wouldn't see each other on our one year anniversary, but he came to work and surprised me with a dozen roses. When I got off of work he informed me that we were going to go to Anna Maria Island and have dinner at the beach. So we headed that way, and I had a feeling that something might happen but I wasn't convinced. We had dinner at a local chain restaurant, and then when we were leaving we decided to go to the beach. I asked him if there was somewhere he wanted us to go (I thought I was being slick) he replied with a "No" and so I chose where we went. We went to my favorite beach access and walked over to an empty spot. He laid a towel down and told me that he had two presents for me. The first was a bottle with a note inside that he laid a few feet in front of me. The second gift was a memory book of our first year together. I like to keep small memories from everything that we do, so he used my memory box to create the scrapbook. It went over how we started to talk all the way until the end when there was a picture of the beach. Once I was finished I had to go open the note in the bottle. The note simply said, "Shannon, Will you Marry Me? Robert." I looked over and he was down on one knee and said "Shannon will you marry" and before he could say "me" I blurted out "Of Course!" How could I not say yes to the best thing that has ever happened to me!? I then noticed someone running at us and soon realized it was his mother Michelle who was hiding taking pictures for us. After we called some close family and friends we went to a local ice cream shop to celebrate.
