Robert and I were both in a sociology class together with our learning communities at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He had seen me around and knew my first roommate our freshman year. Robert introduced himself and invited me to his learning community's movie night they were having in his dorm building that night. We exchanged numbers and I went over that night. The only other person who showed up was his friend Austin, and we watched the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Afterwards, being the gentleman he is, Robert walked me back to my dorm.
After meeting in October the previous year, we ended up becoming a part of the same friend group. Over the spring semester, we started hanging out one-on-one a lot more frequently, and I developed a crush on him. Long story short, I ended up confessing my feelings to him and found out he felt the same way I did. As they say, the rest is history!
After college graduation, I began telling Robert that he should should start thinking about proposing to me. He joked that I should write him a paper explaining why he should propose because of how academic I am. I replied that I would do one better and make him a PowerPoint. A few weeks later, I presented the PowerPoint to him and ended the presentation by putting the ring box on the table in front of him and asking him to marry me. When I asked for his response, he said yes!
