Robert is an avid hunter in the Fall and Winter. We see him little during this time, but we greatly enjoy all of the deer he provides for us. One day him and a friend put up a 2 man stand on my parents property, he was ready to take me out! We go out one afternoon in hopes of seeing a deer. There was no sign of anything the few hours we were out. A day later he plans for us to go early in the morning. It snowed! IT WAS SO COLD! But I was beyond happy and excited he wanted to take me. We sat there for maybe 30 minutes and he spots a deer! I didnt see it. Then it stepped out! I had never felt this adrenaline rush before. So, this is what he lives for out in the woods! He told me to get ready, mind you I'm bundled up like the Michelin man. I get the gun up to my shoulder and he tells me to cock the hammer, I try and eject the shell! The deer is still standing there, then walks into the brush. Robert reloads the gun and cocks it for me in hopes this deer will step back out. A few seconds later it comes back out and crosses my range to rub on some brush. Then it turns around walks back into my range broad side, then Robert whispers "Whenever you're ready." I pull the trigger. By the time I look up it's gone! Robert was so excited! He said I had hit it! What?! Really?! Within an hour our hunt is over. We leave to pick up some friends to help us track the deer. On the way Robert kept saying "It's meant to be!" I thought little of that phrase then. Little did I know the real reason for leaving. We come back with 2 of our guy friends and my dad. Our friends are big into gopro videos so we recorded the retrieve. We find the deer, it's a 10 point! My first deer is a buck and a 10 point at that and the love of my life was there to witness! I'm shocked I killed a deer; breathless. As we are taking pictures, Robert says he has something for me. Okay? I turned to him and he was holding a ring! Its the most beautiful and perfect ring I had ever seen! Then he proposes! I'm still in shock and disbelief that everything that just happened had actually happened! Of course I said YES! Now here we are about to have our perfect and special day! Oh, he went the day before to get the ring. It really was meant to be.
