We first met at a Shabbat meal Leah was hosting at her apartment. Leah had invited a friend of hers and he brought his new roommate (Robert!) as his +1. It wasn't sparks flying immediately, but Leah remembers thinking, "Good for Jason! He found a normal guy as a roommate." Our social circles started intersecting as Robert became more settled on the UWS. We saw each other at shul every week and shared many more Shabbat meals together. But things really kicked into high gear when Leah recruited Robert to help out with the JC Young Leadership Trivia Night! Robert thinks he volunteered... but really, Leah was playing the long game and knew she needed to keep tabs on him. After Trivia Night, there were a few weeks worth of "will they/won't they," but eventually, Robert got with the program. On Friday night, March 15th, 2024, Robert walked Leah home from yet another Shabbat dinner. As they reached her building, Robert turned to Leah and said, "You know, it's really nice out... would you like to keep walking?" Leah said yes (also thought, "finally!") and they've been walking through life together ever since.
