Things To Do

The Roosevelt New Orleans Christmas Lights

The Roosevelt New Orleans Christmas Lights

130 Roosevelt Way, Lobby, New Orleans, LA 70112
, (504) 648-1200

It is a staple to go here during Christmas time to see the lights! Rob and I have made it every year when we lived there!

CELEBRATION IN THE OAKS

1 Victory Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70124
, (504) 483-9415

This light exhibit in City Park is a great activity for families! Celebration in the Oaks is a New Orleans family tradition that includes nightly entertainment, a train ride, photos with Santa, dancing lights, hot chocolate, a full cafe and amusements rides!

Surrey's Café & Juice Bar

1418 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 524-3828

Rob and I went here for our first date! We love this breakfast spot and it is one of New Orleans most popular places. It always has a long wait, but it goes by super fast! When we go, we always get the shrimp and grits!

The Ruby Slipper Cafe

200 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 525-9355

This is another delicious breakfast spot! It also has long waits, but usually on the weekends and you still get seated fast! When we go here we love to get the Eggs Cochon, a braised pork benedict over buttermilk biscuits, topped with two poached eggs and hollandaise! YUM!

Mahony's Po-Boy Shop

3454 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 899-3374

This is one of Rob and I's favorite po boy restaurants! It is on Magazine Street, Uptown which means it is a little drive. BUT there is lots to do! There are beautiful New Orleans victorian homes with large Oak trees; the Audubon zoo; and boutique clothing stores for light shopping!

Adolfo's

611 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 948-3800

This is the first 'DINNER date' Rob and I took to a jazzy part of New Orleans. Adolfo's is a divey italian restaurant on top of a live jazz bar. It almost always has a two hour wait, no big deal we put our name down and walk across the street to a Jazz and Blues band bar to listen to music while we wait!

d.b.a.

618 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 942-3731

This is the Jazz and Blues live band bar Rob and I go to when waiting for a table at Adolfos. We love the music and dancing! This is even where we had our first kiss!

For all the days along the way
