Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

The closest hotels to the Waterplace complex are the Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites by Hilton and the Omni Providence. All three are just 1-2 blocks away. Within 5 blocks you can find the Renaissance, Hampton Inn and Suites, Residence Inn by Marriott, Hotel Dean and the Hilton Providence. Several AirBnB, VRBO options are available around the city center as well. If you have a car or do not mind being a bit farther in the suburbs, there are some lodging options near the Providence airport and Seekonk, MA listed in our Travel section, which has detailed information on some lodging choices with addresses and phone numbers. If you click the View button of a particular hotel you will be directed to the hotel website or to a reservation website.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Smart Casual / Semi Formal. We will be outdoors on the terrace for the ceremony and at the Capital Grille State Room for the dinner reception (the reception will be seated indoors, but we will also have a private outdoor patio area).

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The Capital Grille offers free valet parking. You can take advantage of this anytime after 5pm on Saturday August 28th, 2021. You can easily walk over to the Waterplace building for the ceremony (about one block) . The entrance to the Capital Grille parking garage is opposite to the Providence Place Mall (across from Pizzeria Uno), north of the Fidelity Investment offices and the Visitor Bureau office.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Please plan to arrive at the Waterplace Terrace (14th floor) between 5p-5:30pm. We will have beer, wine some food offerings.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, pictures will be taken for about 30-45 min. Guests can enjoy finger food and beverages set up in the community room of the Waterplace during this time. You can enjoy the view of the Providence skyline and the nice sunset. The entire party will head over to the Capital Grille (about a block away from the Waterplace building) at 7:30pm.

What are the food options that will be available at the Reception dinner?

Answer

For our dinner reception, the Capital Grille will offer Filet Mignon, New York strip, Roasted Chicken breast, Grilled Salmon and a Vegan option. You can choose your entree when seated for dinner.

What will the weather be like that time of year?

Answer

Late August in Providence is beautiful. High temperatures average in the upper 70s F ( mid 20s C). On Saturday August 28th, the sunset will be at 7:25 pm

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, just don't announce or talk about the wedding beforehand (Jeff and Robert are not announcing it since it is an intimate gathering). Pictures of the ceremony and dinner afterwards are ok.

No wedding gifts please. Just the pleasure of your presence on our special day will be the best wedding gift you can give us.

When should I RSVP by?

You will get a formal wedding invite by mail in June. Please RSVP by August 1st 2021.
