Cost: US$80.90 Processing time: Typically 5 to 10 business days Format: The visa is electronic and will be sent via email Where to apply: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/ When to apply: Please apply at least 2 months before your trip to ensure timely approval and peace of mind ✅ Citizens of most European countries do not need a visa to visit Brazil for tourism (up to 90 days). Just be sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.

Afonso Pena International Airport (CWB) is the main airport serving Curitiba, located about 18 kilometers from the city center. If you're flying from the U.S. to Brazil, you can often find cheaper fares by booking from one of these major airports: MIA – Miami, FL , JFK – New York, NY, IAH – Houston, TX, or ATL – Atlanta, GA. These airports offer the best deals because they have more frequent flights to Brazil. ____________________________________________ There are no direct international flights to Curitiba from the U.S. or Europe. Most international travelers will fly into São Paulo (GRU) or Rio de Janeiro (GIG), then take a connecting domestic flight to Curitiba. International Flights to São Paulo (GRU) or Rio de Janeiro (GIG) from major U.S. cities (like New York, Miami, or Atlanta) typically takes around 10-12 hours. A domestic flight from São Paulo to Curitiba takes about 1 hour and one from Rio de Janeiro takes 1.5 hours. __________________________________________ You can take advantage of relatively cheap domestic flights and explore more of Brazil. One great option is to visit Iguaçu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you can choose to fly into Foz do Iguaçu Airport (IGU) instead of Curitiba. From there, you can take a short domestic flight (about 1 hour) or travel by bus (8–10 hours) to Curitiba. __________ PLEASE NOTE: If your flight has a connection, please be aware that you will likely need to collect your checked baggage and recheck it before continuing to your final destination. Allow extra time during your layover for this process.
