Outdoor adventures, great places to eat, lodging, or just scenic views of the river.
Great hiking trails or you can drive to the tunnel and look around for a less strenuous adventure.
Bridal Veil Falls is one of the most unusual and most popular falls in the South by virtue of its easy access along scenic mountain US 64 West. The falls drop for 120 feet. During cold spells, the spray creates a large mound of ice at its base. If it stays cold long enough, the falls will form one giant column of ice. Less than a mile from Bridal Veil Falls, Dry Falls drops 80 feet, 40 feet of that distance is free fall. The neat thing about this falls is that an easy, paved path leads down from the parking lot, taking you inside the recessed ledge behind the roaring and sometimes drenching waters for a view from the other side.
Tapoco Lodge is situated on 120 acres in the lush mountain region of the Nantahala National Forest on the banks of the cascading Cheoah River. It's a great place to sit and eat by the river! It is located at the start of the Tail of the Dragon (US 129) which is considered by many as one of the world's best motorcycling and sports car roads.
