A Love Worth the Wait

Built on faith, friendship & God's perfect timing

Our Love Story Every love story begins with a moment—sometimes small and simple—that quietly changes everything. For Bob and Dana, that moment came on June 14, 2025, when they met for their first date over coffee in Crystal Lake, Illinois. They chose a cozy downtown coffee shop, the kind of place where conversation flows easily. From the moment they sat down together, everything felt natural. They talked comfortably about family, work, life experiences, and the values most important to them. Bob was immediately impressed by Dana’s thoughtfulness, intelligence, and warm smile. Dana, in turn, found Bob kind, genuine, and sincere. Nearly an hour passed before they realized how quickly the time had gone. Bob believed first dates should end on a high note, so they wrapped up—though Dana later admitted she would have happily stayed longer. Both left hopeful there would be a second date. A Second Date at the Ballpark Two weeks later, their second date brought a very different setting: a Kane County Cougars baseball game with Dana’s friends, Amber and Scott. The relaxed atmosphere of a summer night at the ballpark made it easy to talk and laugh, and as the evening went on, their conversations grew deeper. By the end of the night, Bob realized he was falling in love with Dana—admiring her strength, sincerity, and faith. Dana also felt something special growing between them, marked by comfort, trust, and possibility. From that point on, they began spending every weekend together. Building a Life Through Everyday Moments In the weeks that followed, Bob and Dana discovered joy in life’s simplest moments. They attended church together, joined Bible studies, and built friendships that became central to their lives. Faith quickly became one of the foundations of their relationship. They enjoyed long walks, meaningful conversations, cooking together, and even everyday errands. Doing ordinary things side by side strengthened their bond and deepened their connection. A Memorable Trip to Washington, D.C. When Dana shared her longtime dream of visiting Washington, D.C., Bob eagerly helped plan a Labor Day weekend trip. Exploring historic landmarks together—including the Lincoln Memorial at sunrise—became one of the most meaningful experiences of their relationship. A spontaneous Nationals baseball game added fun and laughter to the trip. Traveling together showed them how naturally they worked as a team. During that time, Dana realized she was deeply in love with Bob, touched by his kindness and attentiveness. Bringing Families Together As their relationship grew, they introduced each other to their families. Dana met Bob’s family at the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, while Bob spent time with Dana’s parents and siblings. Family gatherings, holidays, and shared celebrations soon became an important part of their lives. Dana also formed meaningful relationships with Bob’s daughters, Madeleine and Emma. The Proposal By early 2026, Bob knew he wanted to marry Dana. On February 14, he asked her parents for their blessing, which they warmly gave. The next day, Bob and Dana found the perfect ring together. One week later, Bob brought Dana back to the same coffee shop where their story began. There, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Dana immediately said “Yes!” Looking Ahead Today, Bob and Dana look forward to the next chapter of their lives together—grateful for the love and support of family and friends. What began with a simple coffee date has grown into a partnership rooted in faith, friendship, and love. And now, their story continues—with a lifetime ahead. 💍
