For just a second, I want to take us back. Back to a time before Robert and I could have ever imagined this would be our future… It was just an ordinary day, and I had some classwork I needed to do on the computer. So, of course, I was sitting in the lab. In walks this tall slender man. He didn't see me, but the second I laid eyes on him everything around me froze. Not a single soul or thought could pry my eyes away from him. At that moment, no one else mattered. Somehow, I could not stop looking at him. It's safe to say I was infatuated by him. Then, to my amazement, he began walking towards me! I couldn’t tell you what made him sit down, but honestly, I’m so glad he did. Cause afterward, we talked and joked like no one was around. Before I knew it, Robert and I had begun making plans. I didn’t know the man sitting beside me, but I didn't care because in my bones I knew he would be everything to me. This man sitting right beside me would become my world. We exchanged numbers, and began talking. I remember mentioning a concert that was coming to Corpus and without me asking he had already bought the tickets for us to go. We kept talking about the date leading up to the concert and agreed it would just be two people enjoying good music together. You know as friends, not too serious. For months, I waited for him to make things official and ask me to be his girlfriend but he never did. While on a date, I mustered up the courage to ask him if we were "Boyfriend and girlfriend" That’s when I realized he never asked because he already saw us as official. That made me so happy! Fast forward, a few months. He finally got to the point where he was ready to introduce me to his family. The day we had planned to meet his parents we also had plans to go to a concert. I was all about being cute together and of course, I had custom shirts made for the special occasion. We had lunch at King's Inn, and as we were pulling into the parking lot, I start to feel super nervous. I soon realized I was nervous for no reason. They made me feel extremely loved, and at peace. They welcomed me into their family with open arms. When we get to the concert we quickly changed into our matching shirts, and at this point, you could see how much we loved each other. You saw it in our eyes. We were meant for each other. People who know us well enough compliment us about how beautiful a couple we are. By December of 2021, we are talking about moving in together, getting married, and someday having a baby. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of our life together. We started looking at various apartments in different places. Two months later...It's February 2022, and this is when everything starts to become real. Now, we're looking into buying a home. By May 18th, we were officially living together. Then exactly one month later, we became Engaged… My mom was beyond excited and was quickly planning our housewarming party. She made beautiful invitations, and family came over. As guests would walk in, I would give them a tour of our house and tell them all about the things we have changed. I was super excited and forgot to notice that Robert never got up from the couch, talking with his family the whole time. I didn't notice his nerves growing... Meanwhile as I'm in the kitchen, I hear Robert call me over. I walked up to him, and he got down on one knee… I knew it was coming someday, but I didn’t think it would come that day. I asked him “What are you doing?!” And then I laughed I couldn’t deal with all the people that were around us. I got down on my knees too because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The man I love was asking me to marry him. As one would expect, I said yes and it was the surest I had ever been about anything in my entire life. He cried; I laughed. It was the most beautiful moment. I realize every day; he is my blessing. We have been blessed with so much love, and happiness. A match made by the Lord himself.
